McKinney-Vento Opening Doors Technical Assistance Project has developed
“A Guide for Shelter Staff About School Enrollment and Services.”
Shelter staff are in a unique position to help children and their
families and unaccompanied youth learn about their educational rights
and school services and supports under the McKinney-Vento Homeless
Education Program in Illinois. This quick reference guide is a tool
that shelter staff can use to assist families to keep their children in
